Juvenile Turf loses Gung Ho

11/03/2011 - Louisville, KY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Two-year-old colt Gung Ho has been taken out of Saturday's $1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. Trainer Michael Maker indicated the colt is less than 100 percent.

"Mike (trainer Maker) checked him this morning and he didn't like the way he was walking," Gung Ho's owner Ken Ramsey explained. "He has some muscle soreness in his hocks, and we don't run our horses if they're not 100 percent."

Gung Ho won the Sunday Silence Stakes on turf at Louisiana Downs in September and finished seventh in the Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland last month. He has two wins in four starts for $118,064.

The field for the mile race will remain at 14. Tequila Factor moves into the starting field replacing Gung Ho.
